I’m not the biggest fan of Air France, but I have to share this discount ticket opportunity to those of you who have friends or family coming to visit from the US. If you book now through May 31, for travel to happen before the end of the year, you can get 10% off a round-trip flight from the US on Air France jaunts to Europe and Asia. The discount code is FTLAX09. Go to the Air France homepage and start booking the flight as you normally would. Then:

- Proceed with your booking: choose your fares and flights and continue
- Once you are satisfied with your recap page (”book now” step), click the “make reservation” link on the lower right corner.
- In the “please provide passenger details” section of the page, please select “yes” next to “do you have an advantage code?”
- Enter your discount code in the box.
- Confirm and proceed to finalizing your purchase.

My fare for a trip from L.A. was just over $900, taxes included, which was well below the prices I checked on Cheap Tickets and other online discount portals. Now I just have to hope I don’t get bumped.
