A Literary Time Warp

Looking for an engrossing read for your summer break? Check out the new novel “Chasing Sylvia Beach” by Cynthia Morris (that’s her in the pic). It’s about an American woman smitten with 1920s Paris who suddenly wakes up in the middle of Sylvia Beach’s legendary bookshop, the original Shakespeare & Company, in 1937 Paris. While trying to figure out how she got there and how to get back home, she finds herself hanging out with her heroes, discussing writing with Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, dodging Nazis, and discovering an undercover league of time-traveling bibliophiles watching her every move. Available on Amazon in paperback or Kindle format. There are also many events (in the US and Paris in the fall) and a “virtual salon” with some very interesting articles on the writing life. The author is a writing coach and artist who travels to Paris each year, you might also want to check out her inspiring blog, Original Impulse.

Thanks, Heather! I can’t wait to come to Paris in October to walk my new book baby around the streets that inspired me.
