A Moveable Feast: Part Deux

moveable-feastOne of my clients sent me an article about a new edition of Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast that came out released today. Writer and editor Sean Hemingway, Ernest Hemingway’s grandson, took on restoring his grandfather’s original manuscript after his uncle Patrick suggested he re-examine them. He discovered that Mary, Ernest’s wife and his godmother, had edited the book and made changes to it that Hemingway did not know of and replaced with her own words. The restored edition has a section with 10 chapters Hemingway originally didn’t include and also a reproduction of parts of the original manuscripts in longhand.

Today’s publication of the restored edition marks the 45th anniversary of the A Moveable Feast’s original appearance. publication and 50th anniversary of the original manuscript.
