Dog Trots Globe

Sheron Long and her husband Robert, a Californian couple, decided to travel to France to visit Paris and Provence. Quite naturally, they chose to take Chula, their 9-year-old Sheltie (whose name means “pretty” in Spanish). The trip was set to be a real adventure for the dog. Not only was it her first international flight, this trip was also the occasion for her to write… her own book!

For two months, Chula and her owners visited Avignon, Saint-Rémy de Provence, Gordes, Cavaillon, Arles and… Paris. The first part of the book takes place in Provence and relates the many discoveries of Chula: the TGV (French “bullet train”), the smell of bread fresh from the oven at the “boulangerie”, provençal markets with local products for sale such as olive oil, garlic or colorful tablecloths, while the second part takes place in Paris with Chula narrating her daily walks along the River Seine, her admiration for the Eiffel Tower, a visit to an art gallery on the Ile Saint-Louis.

Dog Trots Globe is an original book about France and Paris. It contains more than 150 gorgeous photos of Paris and Provence and is filled with anecdotes about Paris, the Parisians and life in in the southeast of France.
