Finally! Gluten-Free!

Gluten-free fine dining in Paris is no longer the stuff of fantasy, thanks to the opening of the chic, high-quality, gluten-free restaurant, Noglu, in the 2nd arrondissement. Opened just a couple of months ago, the pared-down setting with a decor of blond wood, matt black paint and shiny white-tiled walls in the romantic Passage des Panoramas, is already booked to capacity every lunchtime, drawing in both those who are gluten intolerant and those who are simply looking for good, varied seasonal fare.

And therein lies the secret of Noglu: the kitchen may be certified gluten free and the dishes all without a scrap of that ingredient so essential in the land of the baguette, but the food is by no means lacking in flavor.

The menu changes daily, but expect delights such as pumpkin soup (€5) pan-fried seabram with cauliflower purée (€15), served with the restaurant’s chick pea flour bread, and delicious pastries including apple tart (€6) made with rice and almond flour.
