Martin Margiela's White Room
Martin Margiela loves everything white and if he had his way he would paint the entire world white.
How fortunate that his vision in white is being fulfilled at the Elle Deco Suite at the Cite de L’Architecture. Elle Decor magazine has given him carte blanche to decorate the former apartment of Jacques Carlu, the architect who designed the Palais Chaillot. The 220m (approx. 2400 sq. feet) is on the top floor and has sweeping views of the city and Eiffel Tower.
I love the Miss Havisham feel to the space with the dripping candle wax from the silver candelabras on the white tablecloths, tulle covered chandelier, empty Champagne bottles turned upside down, and burnt candles.
