Radio Free Paris

radio france building parisThe spherical Maison de Radio France overlooking the Seine just south of the Eiffel Tower is home to the family of state-run radio stations in France (including my two favorites, the eclectic Fip and the only decent French rock station, Le Mouv’). But you can also attend live music shows as they’re recorded, including “Un Mardi Idéal,” the Tuesday evening classical music program at 7:30pm. It’s free on a first-come, first-served basis; pick up tickets at the main ticket wind, 116 Avenue Kennedy, in the 16th, starting at 6:30pm. For €5 you can attend the twice-monthly jazz concerts “Jazz sur le Vif.” The next one is on May 24).
