Ready to Run?
On Sunday, October 9, 2011, 20,000 athletes will enjoy a scenic 20 kilometer racethrough the streets of Paris. Beginning at Place d’Iena below Palais de Chaillot at Trocadéro, the race goes through Avenue Foch near the Arc de Triomphe, through the Bois de Boulogne, for a 10 kilometer stretch along the Seine, past Jardin des Tuileries, Le Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Les Invalides, arriving at a finish underneath the Eiffel Tower right off of the Champs de Mars.
The course also passes 12 of Paris’ 37 bridges along the Seine, including some of its romantic spots, such as Pont Alexandre III and Pont de Bir-Hakeim. Here’s the site course map. The course is relatively flat, with less than 100 feet of elevation gain throughout.
