Fashionistas are in a tizzy. They are lamenting the sale of Monoprix, by its Galeries Lafayette owners, to the food chain Casino. Galeries Lafayette gave Monoprix access to some of the world’s best clothing purveyors and factories for items like the cotton polo shirts, which are top of the line yet cost under 20 euros a pop. People in fashion say the current collection may be the last batch of great cheap clothing from Monoprix. They are saving up to raid the stores this coming January, during the nationwide sales. Let’s hope the new owners will keep Monoprix’s amazing customer service standards.
