The Picasso Museum’s Sad Saga

The Picasso Museum, which was supposed to reopen 3 years ago, has postponed, yet again, its opening. Renovations that were meant to take 2 years have stretched to 5. The museum’s website has recently changed the announcement that it would open this June to “opening in 2014!”

Don’t hold your breath.

It’s sad because so many people have missed the opportunity to visit the Picasso. I would recommend it strongly to Paris visitors who haven’t been to Spain.

This was my favorite museum in Paris when I was visiting, but the entire time I lived there was during this never-ending kerfuffle and I never got to go back. So sad that it’s still not operational. It seemed like every weekend in the Marias, I had to break it to some tourist who were looking for it that it was still closed for renovation.
