Velibs stationed on and near the rue de Rivoli and other central thoroughfares are out of commission through May 4. (I found out the hard way by walking from Concorde to Nation at 1 AM.) I imagine it has to do with the many demonstrations expected for May Day, though I don’t see how people’s access to bikes makes a manif more dangerous.
